Welcome! We, Ana & Jeremy, are the creators of Brewing Dinero. We are a recently married couple that are on the path to financial independence. We are the “first” in many things: first generation immigrants from Mexico, first generation college and graduate students, and the first in our families to have the privilege of accessing and utilizing financial literacy to build generational wealth. Our personal journeys have taught us the importance of financial education and the need to continue spreading this knowledge among BIPOC and mixed immigration status communities. We started Brewing Dinero with the hope of inspiring others to achieve their own personal finance goals. Let’s build wealth together!
¡Bienvenidos! Somos, Ana & Jeremy, los creadores de Brewing Dinero. Somos una pareja de recién casados en nuestro camino a la independencia financiera. Somos los “primeros” en muchas cosas: inmigrantes de primera generación de México, estudiantes de primera generación graduados de licenciatura y posgrado y los primeros en nuestras familias en tener el privilegio de accesar y utilizar educación financiera para crear bienes generacionales. Nuestros trayectos personales nos han enseñado la importancia de la educación financiera y la necesidad de seguir difundiendo este conocimiento entre las comunidades afroamericanas, indígenas y gente de color (BIPOC sigla en inglés) y comunidades con estatus de inmigración mixto. Nosotros iniciamos Brewing Dinero con la esperanza de inspirar a otros a conquistar sus propias metas financieras personales. ¡Construyamos bienes juntos!
My name is Dr. Ana and I have been in school for a long time! I attended Santa Clara University (B.S. in Psychology), Loyola Marymount University (M.A. in Guidance and Counseling), and ended at University of California, Santa Barbara (Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology). I had the opportunity to work with various organizations focused on aiding first generation students and underrepresented students access higher education: TRIO Upward Bound, McNair Scholars Program, and Summer Math and Science Honors (SMASH) Academy. As a first generation student and daughter of immigrant parents, I learned to hustle, navigate various systems on my own, and create opportunities for myself. During the day, I am a psychologist and a researcher (click here for my article) on mental health within the undocumented/mixed status community. The rest of the time, I am passionately creating bilingual finance content, leading workshops, and investing in the stock market. I love music, dancing (Cumbia is my favorite), traveling, and coffee (inspiration of Brewing Dinero).
Mi nombre es Dra. Ana y ¡he estado en la escuela por mucho tiempo! Fui a la Universidad de Santa Clara (Licenciatura en Psicología), Universidad Loyola Marymount (Maestría en Orientación y Asesoramiento) y culminé en la Universidad de California, Santa Barbara (Doctorado en Asesoramiento Psicológico). Tuve la oportunidad de trabajar con varias organizaciones enfocadas en ayudar a estudiantes de primera generación y estudiantes subrepresentados a accesar la educación superior: TRIO Upward Bound, el programa McNair Scholars y la academia Summer Math and Science Honors (SMASH). Siendo estudiante de primera generación e hija de padres inmigrantes, he aprendido a trabajar constantemente, navegando diversos sistemas, y creando oportunidades por mí misma. Durante el día, soy una psicología y investigadora sobre la salud mental en las comunidades indocumentados/familias con estatus legal mixto. El resto del tiempo, estoy creando contenido financiero en español y ingles, dirigiendo talleres, y invertiendo en la bolsa de valores. Me encanta la música, bailando (Cumbia es mi favorita), viajando, y tomando cafe (la inspiración de Brewing Dinero).
My name is Jeremy and I have had the privilege of traveling to many places around the world. I attended Cañada Community College and transferred to the University of California, San Diego to obtain a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. After getting my dream job as a field engineer in the oil industry in West Africa, I returned to California and taught Math and Science to low income, first generation high school students under the TRIO Upward Bound Program. The next step in my journey took me to the University of California, Santa Barbara where I obtained a Master’s in Technology Management and met my wife! I worked in the food industry as a maintenance engineer in Nebraska. Today, I work as a reliability engineer in the chemical industry in beautiful Kentucky. Through networking and education, I continue to develop my passion for real estate by creating JMCE, LLC and investing both in Mexico and the United States. At Brewing Dinero, Ana and I constantly research and put together content for YOU! Come join us!
Mi nombre es Jeremy y he tenido el privilegio de viajar a muchos lugares alrededor del mundo. Cursé en el colegio comunitario Cañada y me transferí a la Universidad de California, San Diego para obtener mi licenciatura en Ingeniería Química. Después de conseguir el trabajo de mis sueños en la industria petrolera en África occidental, regresé a California y enseñé matemáticas y ciencias a estudiantes de bajos ingresos y de primera generación dentro del programa TRIO Upward Bound. El siguiente paso en mi jornada me llevó a la Universidad de California, Santa Barbara donde obtuve mi maestría en Administración de Tecnología y ¡conocí a mi esposa! Hoy, trabajo como ingeniero de confiabilidad en la industria química en el bello Kentucky. Mediante redes de contactos y educación, he continuado el desarrollo de mi pasión por los bienes raíces al crear JMCE, LLC e invertir en México y los Estados Unidos.
